Welcome to Barford St.Peter's C.E.(V.A) Primary School

We are very proud of our village school in Barford. It has been here for over 300 years.  As a Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School we have a lot to offer your child.

The school is small enough for every child to be known as an individual and for their education to match their particular needs.  We offer the National Curriculum, but we also offer much more.  Barford St. Peter’s C. of E. (V.A) School receives strong support from governors, parents and friends. We believe children should be part of the life of the local community and they should learn to make a valuable contribution to that life.

As well as offering knowledge and skills, we lay a strong emphasis on beliefs and values.  It is important at an early age, for children to learn about responsibilities, right and wrong and how to behave towards others.  Our children are encouraged to consider other people as well as themselves and are taught Christian values and attitudes.

We have recently very successfully completed an Ofsted inspection. The report is available on the Ofsted website.

I am delighted that the outcome of the inspection was good with elements of outstanding. If you would like to read the full report then please click on the link on the left hand menu.

The governors, the staff and I are all extremely pleased that the inspectors were able to see and endorse what we know about Barford St Peter’s C.E. (VA) Primary School. It is a very good school, warm, welcoming and with outstanding outcomes for all individuals.

As a primary school, our aim is to lay ‘”Foundations for Life”. If your children join us, we shall do everything possible to develop their potential in a happy, caring environment. We believe that by promoting an enthusiastic and enquiring approach to learning, every child can enjoy and be challenged by their education. We encourage our pupils to achieve their full potential in all dimensions – academic, social, spiritual, creative and physical. We would like our pupils to become responsible, confident and caring members of the school, community and wider world.

We aim to:
Provide an understanding of the Christian faith and other major world faiths.
Promote respect for all people whether or not they have a particular faith.
Celebrate and accept cultural diversity.
Provide a rich, relevant and distinctive education.
Nurture the individual within our unique environment.
Embrace family and community links to support pupils’ development.
